Terms & Conditions

Please carefully read and understand the following terms and conditions before enrolling in piano lessons with Ellie Piano Studio.

Lesson Schedule:

Lessons are scheduled weekly throughout the regular Victoria school terms. Lessons are not scheduled during the school holiday periods or on Public Holidays.

If you wish to change your lesson time or day, notify in writing via [email address]. If the change is not possible, you can elect to retain the current lesson spot or discontinue and be placed on the waiting list.

Trial Lesson Period:

A student can enrol for a 10-lesson trial period. Payment for this trial period must be in advance. If, at the end of the trial period, a student wishes to continue, a payment option must be selected to maintain the lesson spot. If the term option is selected, the remainder of the term lesson fees must be paid. If the month option is selected, the remainder of the month lesson fees must be paid. Payment is due in advance of the next lesson.

Lesson Payments:

For the term payment option, payment for 8-10 weeks of lessons is due in cash or via bank transfer before lessons resume. For the monthly payment option, payment for 1-5 weeks of lessons is due in cash or via bank transfer before the first week of lessons in each new month.

If you do not settle your invoice ahead of lessons, you will lose your lesson spot. If you require alternate payment arrangements due to financial difficulty, request this in writing via elliepiano820@gmail.com.

Lesson Guidelines:

Students should behave appropriately within the lesson room, and parent supervision is required for very young children. Parents are encouraged to sit in on lessons to aid with practice at home. Lesson goals will be provided to guide this.

Though drink bottles are allowed in the lesson room, no food items are permitted.

Health Guidelines:

Students are required to sanitize their hands upon arrival and observe good hygiene habits.

Students should not attend the lesson if they are unwell. If a student arrives and is displaying symptoms of illness, the lesson will be canceled. Online lessons are available as an alternate option and should be requested in advance of the lesson. These are delivered via Zoom.

Note: there is no difference in lesson fee regardless of on-site or online delivery.

Notification of Absence:

If notice of an absence is received in advance along with a valid medical certificate or proof of sickness, the lesson fee will not be charged, and a make-up session will be arranged at another time. If the student is absent from a scheduled make-up lesson, this will be charged.

If notice of an absence is not given or is provided at the time of the scheduled lesson, this will be charged.

To request a make-up lesson due to illness, please notify us in writing via [email address] or by phone: 0431298864.

Please note that if the notice of absence is less than 4 hours before the scheduled lesson, a $10 fee will be charged for lesson rearrangement or cancellation.

Discontinuing Lessons:

Notice to discontinue lessons must be provided in writing via elliepiano820@gmail.com at least one week in advance.

Purchasing or Loaning:

In some instances, purchases may be made on behalf of students. Where this is required, items will be listed on an invoice for payment in advance or reimbursement. This could include print material, repertoire, instrument accessories and equipment or examination enrolment fees.

There are equipment and print material items available for student loan. There may be hire fees or security deposits associated with this, which will be included on an invoice for payment in advance. If the item is lost, damaged, or stolen, a replacement fee for the required value will be incurred.

Child Protection Program:

Ellie Piano Studio has a Child Protection Policy in place. All children have a right to feel safe and be safe, and Ellie Piano Studio is committed to promoting and protecting the safety and wellbeing of all children. You can view the policy here.
